Timothy Sanders

Sales Use & Business Tax Division Alabama Department of Revenue

Timothy Sanders began working with the Alabama Department of Revenue in 2002. He began his career in the Audit and Field Administration Section of the Sales and Use Tax Division. Timothy would work in the Sales and Use Tax Division as a Revenue Examiner until 2015. At that time, Timothy would become a Revenue Research Analyst in the Tax Policy and Governmental Division of the Alabama Department of Revenue. Timothy would return to the Sales and Use Tax Division in 2021, where he would serve as the Hearings Officer before being named Assistant Director of the Sales and Use Tax Division in 2023. As the Assistant Director of the Sales and Use Tax Division, Timothy is responsible for overseeing Tax Administration, Audit and Field Administration, Central Office Logistics, Special Projects, and Local Tax Administration. Timothy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and a Master of Business Administration degree from Auburn University at Montgomery.
