PROGRAM DEDICATION

I would like to dedicate this year’s program to Villa Rica First Baptist Church. To say that FBCVR has been eager to serve and willing to support our program would be an understatement. They have continuously poured into the young men within our program during the entire off-season. From our very first meeting together, Pastor Kevin Williams has set a mission within their church to reach and develop our kids in every way possible. His mindset and belief is that nothing is too big, and if it will help our program, then we will find a way to accomplish it. He has a desire to help our youth that is accompanied by a willingness to work. The members of FBCVR share these qualities, and it is these qualities that made a beach trip for our entire varsity football team possible. It would have been very easy to write this off as impossible, infeasible, a logistical nightmare, or not worth the leg work that it would require to make it happen. However, the leadership and members within the church chose to impact our kids regardless of the work that it would require. The church raised the funds in one weekend to feed and house our team on the beach in Panama City, Florida. They opened the doors for our players and gave us the opportunity to make memories that we will carry with us for a lifetime. It is impossible to quantify the impact and ripple effects that week will have on everyone who was a part of it. From coaches to players, we will forever be grateful for the Villa Rica First Baptist. Beyond this week, our team chaplain, Josh Shrewsberry, and Joseph Wolfe are constantly reaching out to offer a helping hand. Some of the most crucial moments in these young men’s lives happen inside our field house and on the field. I believe that it takes a village to guide our kids through these times. In addition to the support for the football program, FBCVR allows our cheerleaders to use their gym as their practice facility throughout their season, and Mr. Frank Bruno and the rest of the staff go above and beyond to support our cheerleading program and countless other programs within our schools and community. It is critical that we ensure the kids within our programs gain the lessons they need in order to be the best version of themselves. Villa Rica First Baptist has been a crucial component in ensuring our kids are eventually better fathers, husbands, and leaders within our community. Our program will always be extremely grateful for all that Villa Rica First Baptist has done for us.
