Situational Hitting Routine Situational hitting is based on plays and situations that the player might incur during the game. Each swing should be taken with a purpose and not doing your job results in less positive count swings during your rounds. During our situational hitting we will have baserunners. The purpose is to get live looks and reads. It should be done at about ¾ running speed with the runner doing the reads at game speed. Last person in the group is running with the hitter swinging.
